Join us on Wanaka Ambassador to explore the stories of early history, amazing explorers, business pioneers and entrepreneurs who have shaped Wanaka from its days as ‘Oanaka’ and ‘Wananga’, through to present day. Immerse into the history and legends of Wanaka from early alpine maori through to the first settlers and high country run-holders, the amazing stories of pioneers in deer recovery, tourism, iconic businesses and the amazing entrepreneurs of events, sport, wine, arts, snow-sports and culture. Experience stories of the fascinating growth of Wanaka right up to present day. Be part of Wanaka’s success now and into the future by contributing to it’s legacy – become a Wanaka Ambassador.
You will explore tools to authentically engage with international visitors as well as all New Zealanders in a meaningful and memorable way, and gain a quiver of amazing stories of the region to connect with and share.

Wanaka Ambassador is endorsed by Ignite Wanaka – Wanaka Chamber of Commerce, Lake Wanaka Tourism, Queenstown Lakes District Council and the Ambassador industry advocacy group.
Join in on scheduled dates or contact us for a bespoke Ambassador course for your team / business (minimum numbers apply). The programme is delivered by local facilitators and costs $30 + GST per person.

Timing & Cost:
Wanaka Ambassador runs on Friday mornings from 9am-12pm.
The cost is $30+GST per person. For groups of 25 and over, contact us for group booking rates.
