Join us on Cromwell Ambassador to explore the stories of early Maori history, first explorers, settlers, the days of gold through to to present day bustling and fast-growing Cromwell.
Immerse into the history and legends of early Waitaha through to the first European explorers, settlers and high country runholders.
Hear some amazing stories of the Otago gold rush, how Cromwell got it’s name, pioneers of fruit growing, the era of the dam development right through to the amazing entrepreneurs of events, business, sport, multisport, wine tourism, hospitality, arts, tourism and world class cycling experiences. Explore with other locals the stories of the fascinating growth of the Cromwell Basin right up to present day. You will explore tools to authentically engage with international visitors as well as all New Zealanders in a meaningful and memorable way, and gain a quiver of amazing stories of the region to connect with and share.

Cromwell Ambassador is endorsed by Cromwell and Districts Promotion Board, Central Otago District Council, and the Cromwell Ambassador industry advocacy group.

On successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a Tirau – Cromwell lapel pin and a certificate of completion.
The programme is delivered by local facilitators and costs $30 + GST per person.

Timing & Cost:
Tirau Cromwell Ambassador runs in the mornings from 9am-12pm.
