The Coromandel Ambassador Programme is a course designed for people engaging with both New Zealand as well as international visitors who come to the Coromandel Hauraki District. The purpose is to help create storytellers and ambassadors who can connect with people and authentically engage with what all New Zealanders understand as ‘manaakitanga’ and ‘kaitiakitanga’. Sharing our stories, with our visitors, and ensuring everyone enjoys our warm welcome.
The programme helps to build knowledge of the history, special places and people of The Coromandel to proudly share with manuhiri; to extend an understanding of what it takes to authentically connect with visitors, to contribute to the ongoing and future success of The Coromandel by providing simple tools to enhance visitor and customer experiences right across the region.
Participants engage in a three-hour workshop delving into the history and unique stories surrounding the backbone of the region, including early Māori history, experience of early explorers and European settlers, right through to the exciting regional growth and economy of today.
During this bespoke programme you’ll explore ways to connect, engage authentically and make a real difference to visitors from around NZ and the globe, ensuring they’re left with a highly memorable and lasting impression of the specialness of The Coromandel.
It’s the small things that create the best visitor experiences. The programme will build on customer experience skills to focus on creating genuine connections with visitors old and new.
