The Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Ambassador Programme is a course designed for people engaging with both domestic and international visitors across Auckland. The aim is to create storytellers and ambassadors with real pride in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
The programme helps to build your knowledge of history and Auckland locations to proudly share; to extend your cross-cultural understanding to authentically connect with visitors; and to grow your business by providing simple tools to develop the overall visitor and customer experience.
Participants engage in a three-hour workshop delving into the history and unique story of Auckland, including local Māori history and legends, the experience of early settlers, and how the local economy has evolved up to the present day.
This bespoke programme also includes advice on how to connect with visitors from key international visitor markets, ensuring they’re left with a positive and lasting impression of Auckland.
On successful completion of the programme and Ambassador quiz, participants will receive a Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Ambassador lapel pin.
The programme is delivered by local facilitators and costs $40 + GST per person.
